ABORATORY ANIMALS VETERINARY ASSOCIATION

Membership of LAVA is open to all Veterinarians with an interest in the welfare and use of laboratory animals.

Student membership of LAVA is open to veterinary students of UK universities who have an interest in the welfare and humane use of laboratory animals.

 All members receive the LAVA-ESLAV journal, which is published twice yearly in the spring and autumn. This magazine contains clinical and scientific articles on lab animal science; updates on Home Office matters and legislation; and reports of meetings and other matters of topical interest.  

All members of LAVA are entered on the email list and will receive information on lab animal science from the secretariat as appropriate. The LAVA website (www.lavavet.org), is also available to members and carries details of forthcoming meetings and other useful information. 

LAVA organises regular scientific and social meetings, which provide an opportunity to meet veterinary surgeons working with laboratory animals.

 Application for membership 
Student membership is free, but applicants must be proposed by a current full member of LAVA and their student status confirmed by a tutor or head of department at their university.
